As promised, here’s the new painting.
Recently I tried something like this:
I took an existing painting with a flying ship (my friends found it at a flea market)
and started adding new elements to it.
The idea was to include them, two dogs, two cats, and even a house with balloons.
Sounds a bit unusual!
In the end it turned into a mix:
classical painting + a more modern, animation-like style.
I had to stylize everything and then integrate it into the painting so it wouldn’t just look like a collage.
What interested me the most was making it all feel like it belongs together.
It felt like working in Photoshop — but not on a computer, in real life, with my hands.
Painting with oils is something I really missed. Or maybe always do.
Attaching a video — a few process shots
and the final result.
